Ski, Golf and World Travel via Steamboat Springs, Colorado Fractional Ownership
This is about my experience in spotting a remarkably good fit for a fractional ownership opportunity (with worldwide reciprocity) in Steamboat Springs, Colorado (aka Ski Town, USA), where the reciprocity, amenities and services are so awesome, owners “won’t know how to act!”
Her history as a Registered Nurse serves her family well. Currently she tends to the needs of her infirm in-laws who live with her, her husband, and their teenaged daughter. Having grown up with a mother who had Multiple Sclerosis, I can empathize with the daily and nightly drill she endures.
Sure, they live in a 7,000 square-foot house on a lake in South Carolina, but it was designed with the aging parents in mind, and with the exception of a weekly housekeeper and the maintenance people she hires, she doesn’t have any help. She also entertains the troops that her husband brings home, those employees and contacts that make his business operate smoothly and provide the bacon that makes it all possible. And what made that business possible? Her younger years as that R.N. who brought home the bacon while hubby developed the business. Yes, her career has served her family well!
This family that now makes certain the aging parents are properly cared for stays very busy. Hubby travels the nation constantly with his work; Daughter ski races and travels to Steamboat Springs to compete and train; and Mom manages to set things up several times a year so she can get away from home base with Daughter and Hubby to enjoy vacations around the world and in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They work hard and they play hard. They take vacations worldwide to ski, golf, and sail. These are the trips that put the three of them in a setting where they can spend time together in a way which serves them well: As immediate family having fun and recovering from the intense daily grind.
Initially, I was contacted by Hubby via my website, www.CoolColoradoRealEstate.com . He was led to www.CoolColoradoRealEstate.com via another search engine where he spotted one of my listings. He was certain that if this listing lived up to the photos and description, it was exactly what his family of three needed in Steamboat Springs, aka Ski Town, USA. After her tour, Mom said, “It’s so nice I wouldn’t know how to act!” My response was, “Probably most owners don’t know how to act at first, but they get used to it!” We closed within weeks of Mom looking at it, and the family has set their plans to come out to ski in April. I am invited to sip wine with them at the gorgeous residents’-only bar to celebrate their great fortune. Next blog I will tell you about the lifestyle these folks just purchased.
